Starting a flower farm

Hey everybody, its been awhile since I have posted! Well a lot has happened over the months that have flown by. I finally finished a pattern for a Japanese inspired apron!!  I am just about finished with my first one. I will post it soon. They will be for sale in my Etsy Shop as soon as I get them finished. I also have been into block printing. I made quite a few hand towels with my design for the fall art and craft fairs...Exciting. I am also starting a flower farm this spring!
I am so excited!! This has been a work in progress!! I have read the fabulous book The flower farmer by Lynn Byczynski! This is such a great read with tons of fabulous information. My other education has been reading the blog Floret. I have enjoyed this blog so much. Erin Benzakein has done a fabulous job explaining and teaching! I have started my seeds and those little babies are sprouting!! It is so exciting. I plan to have a flower stand at the end of our driveway and hope to do a few markets this summer. I will try and update the happenings on the newly developed farm so you can follow along in the process.

Fall Decor on Etsy

Etsy Fall Decor Favorites
Hello, we are enjoying a perfect fall day here in Minnesota. This is another list of my Etsy favorites. It is a list of fall decor favorites. I hope you enjoy them also. Fall is my favorite season, pull out the sweaters and leggings..wool plaid blankets and apples galore. Please feel free to share your Etsy favorites or your fall favorites in the comment section.

Awesome Pillow
I love pillows! It is so easy to make a change to your decor by switching out your pillows.
Lovely Wool Blanket

Another easy way to a some zing is with throw blankets! I tend to paint my walls white..I know blah but it makes it so much easier to change decor with seasons. Add some pillows and a throw and ta da! A new room.

I love this wall sign. I am kind of a modern / contemporary girl so this simple sign is so me. With these 3 simple items your living room will be complete...actually maybe some fall branches like these....

I have made a few more Marimekko bags that you can find Here. My Etsy shop has been a blast. I love that I can be creative and do things at my own pace. I think my sewing for my Bonne Vie Etsy shop will slow down now that the weather is turning warmer....Love the spring and summer months. Here in the midwest I try to be outside as much as I can because the winter.....well tends to be long and chilly!!!

Linen Love

Linen Love! I am having this long time love affair with Linen fabric. Anytime I see anything made out of it.....yes I drool. So I have decided to add some of the fabulous fabric into my Etsy shop.So far I have made a girls dress, a baby quilt and a Japanese style apron!! I has been so fun!!
Girls Linen dress size 4

The dress was such a fun sew. This girls dress is made using a linen blend fabric. It is a heather black/gray with a zippered back. I ended up making one more dress but using Amy Butler fabric called Floating Buds
Classic Style dress size 7.

The thing I love about this pattern is that it is such a classic. It also can be worn for all seasons. Pair it with sandals and white knee socks in the spring or summer, or throw on a shrug, tights and boots in the winter.
I will post my other linen projects as soon as I have them photographed.

Modern Patchwork!

Modern Patchwork

Years ago I took a quilting class. I was in my early 20's and was wanting to learn a new skill. I loved it. I quilted every chance I got...when kids were napping, after supper late into the night. I thought about it all the time. At some point I do not know when I stopped....and I have not made a quilt in a long time. However everything quilted still catches my eye. At the moment I am am loving patchwork pillows.
I love this one from Anthropologie

this one from Urban Outfitters
I looked through my stash of fabrics and came up with these....and...

it turned into this! Most of the fabric here is Marimekko....another obsession of mine.
I had so much fun I have stuff on the go for patchwork potholders....yeah!!! Sewing does something to me. Love It!!!
